+ James-of-all-trades Franco produced a short film called "Guests." Starring Modern Family's Rico Rodriguez, the film "tells a story of two pervasive forces of nature: The unrelenting bully who targets Charlie (Rodriguez), and the cancer that is killing his father (Matthew Modine), as he deals with bullies."

+ Quvenzhane Wallis scored herself a four-book deal with Simon & Schuster.

+ Beach House has another full-length album on deck titled Thank Your Lucky Stars, and it already has a release date...October 16! The band made the surprise announcement on Twitter.
