Watch The ‘Absolutely Fabulous’ Movie Trailer, Sweetie Darling

“You’ve killed Kate Moss!”

Edina and Patsy are back, darlings. The first trailer for the silver screen adaptation of the BBC's cult show Absolutely Fabulous is here and riddled with celebrity cameos.

Jennifer Saunders and Joanna Lumley reprise their iconic roles, in search of Kate Moss, who is, apparently, changing her PR. Based on the trailer, they succeed in getting into the same room as Moss, but after a foray with Jon Hamm leads Patsy away, Edina accidentally topples Moss into the River Thames. Fabulous. What follows is an over-the-top adventure through social media trolling, late nights, shopping sprees, chain smoking, and celebrity sightings. Edina and Patsy somehow evade the press by cavorting to the south of France. You can guess what happens after, with all that wealth, those estates, and yachts.

Interestingly, the character of Huki Muki, a fictional fashion designer, is not shown in the trailer at all. His name appears on the banners for the fancy fashion person party where Moss takes a tumble, but that's it. The role of Muki has been labeled as "yellowface" by Margaret Cho and her followers because Scottish comedian Janette Tough plays the male Japanese character. Perhaps, due to the backlash that ensued following Cho's tweet last year, the movie has minimized the role. Perhaps the editors of the trailer learned a lesson after Zoolander 2's trailer (and movie, itself) was accused of being transphobic for Benedict Cumberbatch's character, All, and decided to not preview the role at all. More to come as the campaign surrounding Absolutely Fabulous is just kicking into gear.

On a brighter side, all of Absolutely Fabulous' six seasons are currently available to stream on Netflix, so you'll be all caught up by the time the movie hits theaters July 22.
