Adele Calls Out Fan For Filming Her During Her Concert

Especially if you’re using a tripod

There can be nothing more soul-destroying than being called out by your favorite pop star in the middle of one of their concerts, but that's what happened to a fan during Adele's recent show in Verona, Italy. In the video below, Adele takes a break from making her audience's hearts swell up with all the feelings, to scold an audience member for filming her concert. “Yeah, I want to tell that lady as well, can you stop filming me with a video camera?” she said. “Because I’m really here in real life. You can enjoy it in real life, rather than through your camera.”

You might be wondering why Adele chose to single out one person when presumably a large chunk of the audience was filming her with their smartphones (including the person who shot the video below). Well, it turns out this particular fan went all out and set up an actual tripod. “Can you take your tripod down?” Adele asked. “This isn’t a DVD, this is a real show. I’d really like you to enjoy my show because there are lots of people outside that couldn’t come in.”

Adele was clearly annoyed at the lengths this person went to film the concert (how did security even let them bring a tripod into the venue?), but the irony is that in attaching a device to a tripod instead of holding it yourself, you'd probably have the freedom to actually watch the show instead of worrying whether or not you were getting the best shot. But don't tell Adele we said that.
