Adele Performs “When We Were Young” In Yayoi Kusama’s Infinity Room

hello from another galaxy

Renowned for commanding a stage with just her grand vocals and a piano, Adele's performances have always relied solely on her skill as a singer. But when she discovered Japanese artist Yayoi Kusama's "Infinity Mirrored Room—The Souls of Millions of Light Years Away" through Katy Perry’s Instagram of all places, she immediately knew she wanted the installation at L.A.'s Broad museum to be incorporated into one of her acts.

“I decided that I wanted this to be a part of my 'When We Were Young' performance at the BRIT Awards in the U.K. because you kind of see different versions of yourself from every angle," said Adele. “I definitely felt like standing in that room for an hour, I saw things in myself and of myself that I haven’t noticed before."

Normally, the general public is only permitted to spend a few minutes inside the space but Adele was extended an hour. We can only imagine how amazing it was to be in the room with her as she sang one of her greatest hits. Watch Adele belt her heart out in the galactic space, below.
