All week long, Saturday Night Live had been promoting their debate spoof like it was a title fight. Alec Baldwin was an inspired choice to play Donald Trump, and Kate McKinnon had already proven herself as a more than capable proxy for Hillary Clinton. Needless to say, expectations were high going into SNL's 42nd season Saturday, and well, they didn't disappoint.

It's been a rough week for Trump, whose post-debate meltdown culminated last night with the revelation that he may have evaded paying taxes for nearly two decades. So as expected, Baldwin showed no mercy on the controversial candidate, taking him to task for his multiple debate missteps.

On the faulty microphone: "(Clinton) broke it with Obama; she and Obama took my microphone to Kenya and they broke it.”

On Rosie O'Donnell: “We should be talking about the important issues like Rosie O’Donnell and how she’s a fat loser.”

On the war in Iraq: “We should be talking about the important issues like Rosie O’Donnell and how she’s a fat loser.”

When asked by Michael Che's version of Lester Holt whether she had any thoughts on what Baldwin's Trump had to say, McKinnon's Clinton responded with: "I think I'm going to be President.”

We think that this upcoming season of Saturday Night Live is going to be one for the ages. Watch below.
