Why Does This Trailer For The “Angry Birds” Movie Exist?

because hollywood…and money.

So, you know that “Angry Birds” game millions of people were playing, like, two years ago? Yeah, that one. Well, someone’s gone and made a big-budget, 3D-animated film of it, despite the fact that the game itself has no narrative or fully fleshed-out characters because Hollywood will make a movie of anything if research suggests that it'll make its money back.

Coming out next summer, The Angry Birds Movie does look beautiful and happens to boast some serious vocal talent (Jason Sudeikis, Maya Rudolph, Josh Gad, Kate McKinnon, Peter Dinklage, and Bill Hader). As well, its script comes from prolific Simpsons writer Jon Vitti (the genius behind Mr. Plow). Also, we appreciate the eyebrow game the main character has going on here.

But come on. Seriously? Is “Candy Crush Saga” starring the voices of Amanda Seyfried and Zac Efron up next? Actually, it probably is.

Oh, well. We’re sure The Angry Birds…sigh…Movie is going to make all the money when parents and kids flood into theaters to see it May 20, 2016.
