31 Days of DIY Denim: Day 16, Graphic Back Pockets

Check out today’s project

by Payton Wang

NYLON staffers created unique, DIY projects using denim in honor of our annual Denim Issue. Check back here every day of August to see a new project.

What you’ll need:

A pair of jeans

Pencil

Ruler

T-shirt with a pattern you like

Scissors

Hot glue gun or needle and thread

Directions:

Step 1: Measure the size of the pockets on the back of your jeans.

Step 2: Using a pencil and a ruler, draw the shape of the pockets onto the T-shirt.

Step 3: Cut out the fabric leaving about half an inch extra around what you’ve drawn.

Step 4: Hot glue or sew the fabric over the pockets, making sure not to glue/sew the pockets shut.

Step 5: Hot glue or sew on the extra pieces as additional detail (optional).
