beauty queen: olivia munn

hair tips to help you stand the heat.

We're at the height of summer, which means spending as little time as possible indoors--and that includes time in front of a mirror.

Instead, we've been relying on our favorite low-key beauty tricks that help us look way more polished than we're feeling. And you can't get any more low-key than the bun. Just look at Olivia Munn, who attended the season two premiere of The Newsroom with a practically bare (albeit glowing--someone else has been spending time at the beach) face and the simplest of 'dos. Yet she still looks totally pulled together--throwing on some statement jewelry, like her sparkly ear cuff, certainly helps--and her glossy chignon is a major factor.

And you can get it in under 15 minutes (shower time included). Here's how:

SHINE IT: Pantene Pro-V Ice Shine 2-in-1 Shampoo and Conditioner - $5.99

Get some gloss before you step out of the shower. Though Pantene offers their Ice Shine line in both a shampoo and conditioner, a 2-in-1 means you can cut your bath time in half.

SLEEK IT: Goody Ouchless Hair Elastics - $4.99

Using a comb (brush bristles on wet hair never ends well), pull back your hair to about three inches above the nape of your neck, securing with a ponytail holder and then twisting and tucking with the help of a few well-placed bobby pins.

SPRAY IT: Tigi Bed Head Masterpiece Shine Hairspray - $19.50

What takes a bun to the next level? That extra bit of gloss--this spray keeps tresses looking extra shiny.
