BEAUTY QUEEN: VANESSA HUDGENS

the actress lashes out in all the right ways.

by rebecca willa davis

When it comes to lashes, we've all mastered our top ones; everyone has got their process down pat, and knows which mascara to turn to if they want a Minnie Mouse fringe. But it's the bottom ones that seem to cause the most trouble. Either you're too nervous to even attempt a coat of mascara on your lower lashes, or can't be bothered to try. But if this photo of Vanessa Hudgens proves anything, it's the wonders that mascara on both the top and bottom lashes does. Even thought the actress is wearing a bright, bold lipstick, our eyes are drawn straight to her eyes--and, frankly, we're not sure she's ever looked better. Ready to go low with your wand? Here's what you'll need to do:

CONCEAL IT: Benefit Erase Paste, $26

In order for eyes to pop, you want to get rid of any dark circles. After moisturizing, use your finger--or, if you're into your makeup gadgets, a Beauty Blender--to dab a little bit of this concealer below your eye.

DEFINE IT: Clinique Bottom Lash Mascara, $10

What you want out of a wand for your upper lashes--lots of volume and curl--isn't want you need for your lower lashes. This mascara from Clinique has a smaller brush so you can get each and every little hair.

ENHANCE IT: Neutrogena Healthy Skin Primer, $13.99

To really draw attention to your eyes, what you've got going on with your lashes is just as important as the skin around it. Just a dime size of this primer will help illuminate and brighten the area from your cheekbones to the side of your temples. After that, you can either swipe your brightest berry-red…or just apply a little bit of Chapstick, since your eyes bring more than enough drama.
