Chvrches stopped by BBC Radio 1's Live Lounge to promote their excellent sophomore album, Every Open Eye, which comes out this Friday, and as tradition states they were asked to perform a cover.
The Glasgow trio know their way around someone else's song, as they proved with this revelatory cover of Arctic Monkey's "Do I Wanna Know?" from last year. This time, they went with another question in song form and the number two song in the country, with Justin Bieber's "What Do You Mean?" It's not a radical take on Bieber's hit, but their metallic production and Lauren Mayberry's yearning vocals make for a superb, synth-pop rendition. Check it out above at the 2:05 mark.
