Sure, film screenings are awesome. But most of the time they involve sitting passively in the audience rather than participating in the excitement.

But the Bushwick Film Festival, which rolls into town this weekend, lets everyone join the fun.

For its fourth installment, the event is a D.I.Y. mecca of art, music, and movies. This means a Woody Allen-inspired art show, live performances from bands like Weekends, Chappo, and an interactive photography exhibit.

And, you can't forget about the 20-plus long and short independent movies from local filmmakers.

There's so much to do in just one weekend...who needs sleep, anyway?
