When I first met Steve Aoki back in 2005, he was DJing a NYLON party for his little sister Devon, who was on our April cover. Besides turning me onto M.I.A. (yes, the very woman who stars in our music issue...), Steve signed me up for the Dimmak List, a weekly email that comes from his record label in California.

The email lets the world know about Dimmak's new releases, parties, and music tours, but Steve also includes nutty stuff like a color-by-numbers t-shirt and photos by the Cobrasnake.  And this week, he may have outdone himself on the must-read meter:

Dimmak included a link to RCRDLBL, a website that features free - and really good - downloads every day.  Their current homepage boasts free music from The Drums, Yeasayer, and Kelis, plus tons of indie bands that (sorry Steve!) we haven't even heard of yet.

Just proceed with caution: Once you start spending time on RCRDLBL, you'll never want to sign off.

Check it out on RCRDLBL.com
