discuss: in secret trailer
When I found out that Emile Zola's novel Therese Raquin was being turned into a movie I nearly jumped out of my seat. Zola's novel is one of the darkest most dramatic pieces of psychological literature that I read in about one day because of sheer excitement. I mean, it really has it all: art, romance, passion, deceit, murder, revenge... Zola was like the Danielle Steele of the 19th century. And the film adaptation, titled In Secret, has even more good stuff, like Elizabeth Olsen, Oscar Isaac, Tom Felton, period costumes, and (of course) those inexplicable British accents that have popped up in every period movie from Troy to Les Miserables
