you’re cordially invited to a garden party with mia moretti.

What do you get when you take one of our favorite NYLON girls-- in this case, it's DJ, style star, and one half of The New York Dolls, Mia Moretti --and couple her up with one of our favorite emerging brands? There might not be a scientific term for this collision of awesomeness yet, but let's just say it really makes us want to go shopping.

Moretti stars in the spring 2014 campaign for Emerson, the Boston-based label created and designed by Jackie Fraser-Swan. Her collection of jewel-toned frocks and flower-patterned pieces might still be hot off the runway, but Fraser-Swan clearly works fast. She's recruited Moretti and fashion photographer Kenneth Capello for the campaign while the clothes are still fresh in our minds--a pretty genius move, to tell the truth.

While the selection of dresses is undeniably girly (think details like sweetheart necklines and collared tops) leave it to Moretti to shake things up, beauty-wise. After all, if you're looking to pack a major punch, then you don't have to go much further than lilac eyeshadow, striped nails, and deep purple-blue lipstick.

So even though summer officially ended earlier this week, who cares? It's never to early to planning warm-weather picnics, garden parties... and yes, even downtown DJ gigs.
