7 Fall Beauty Trends We Are About To See Everywhere

Straight from the catwalk to the streets

While February may seem like forever ago, all of the killer beauty trends we saw on the fall 2016 runways are finally in season.

Perfectly embracing the darker side of autumn, we saw a great deal of vampy lips, smokey eyes, and bleached brows. Additionally, things got a little arts-and-craftsy (a little loose glitter, anyone?), making this season’s shows some of the most exciting and interesting, beauty-wise, that we’ve seen in a while.

Below, we rounded up seven of the runways’ most frequented looks that we know are about to be everywhere. While some trends may be best reserved for the risk-takers (I’m sure we’re not all rushing to get our brows bleached white), we can guarantee we’ll be seeing variations of these looks all over our favorite street style blogs soon enough.

But, what we’re really stoked for is to test them ourselves. Fall weather offers us the perfect canvas to try out something new (now that our makeup is no longer melting off of our faces), so why not ditch our waterproof black mascara for an ethereal halo of baby blue?

Click through the gallery to get a closer look at each trend and get ready to take some notes.

Glitz and Glitter

We are all about the glitter revolution that happened this past February. Glitter was dumped on the eye, under the eye, and all around the eye on the Jenny Packham, Burberry, and Opening Ceremony runways for a bold, yet whimsical statement.

Baby Blue Eyes

Blue was the color of choice in terms of eye shadow and liner, whether in ethereal, smokey looks at Thom Browne and Jill Stuart or in the form of bold liner at Jeremy Scott.

Clumpy Lashes

This season, lashes were given the “Twiggy effect”—meaning tons of volume, separation, and clumpiness (in a good way). Models at Jason Wu, Eudon Choi, Dior, and more were spotted on the runway doe-eyed, paying homage to the ‘60s icon.

Vampy Lips

Goth babes were all the rage on the fall runways with dark, vampy lips—from berry to black—seen at the likes of Christian Dior, Louis Vuitton, Rodarte, and more.

Smokey Eyes

The classic, sultry style is back in a big way—whether ultra vampy at Saint Laurent, bold and bronzed at Tadashi Shoji, or subtle and glossy at Emanuel Ungaro.

Graphic Liner

The cat eye is taking a backseat this fall. Liquid liner has become more of an art tool than a beauty product, with the coolest graphic lines drawn around the eyes, rather than along the lash line, at Kenzo, Giamba, and Altuzarra.

Bleached Brows

A slew of models was seen marching down the runways basically browless at Marc Jacobs, Moncler Gamme Rouge, and Saint Laurent. While we’re huge fans of the ultra-bleached style, please don’t try this at home.
