FKA twigs is a force of nature. Her debut LP proved she was extraordinary, and her latest EP, M3LL155X, was next level. At this year’s MOBO Awards in the U.K., twigs performed two tracks from it and shut the place down.
Honestly, twigs could tip-toe across a stage and we’d praise her, but this performance of “Figure 8” and “In Time” is out of this world. Men in various states of undress creep onto the stage as she brings the hypnotizing “Figure 8” to life. As the song builds towards its crescendo, women join the group. Once the gang’s all there, twigs unleashes her power with the Aaliyah-influenced track “In Time.” She sheds her coat and nails the choreography that follows. It’s bone-chilling, dripping with a refined sexuality, and gives us all the more reason to bow at the feet of twigs. This is unreal.
