Praise R’hllor! The Red God (aka HBO) has dropped the first real, full trailer for Game of Thrones’ sixth season, this time with actual new footage featuring real human beings. All hail.
Set to a folksy, super-sad version of Chris Isaak’s “Wicked Game,” the trailer starts on a low note with the cold and lonely corpse of Jon Snow discarded in a corner of Castle Black like your old yoga mat. Later, we get a shot of him—with all his lovely stubble—laid out as if for a funeral. Alas, this is about all we see of Kit Harington’s deceased, bunny-eyed character. The whole “is he or isn’t he” controversy will have to continue for a bit longer (spoiler: he’s totally alive).
From there it’s mostly moody close-ups of our surviving stars, including Mr. Ramsay Bolton who has become a new obsession of ours as of late. Khaleesi is in chains, Cersei still has that cute pixie haircut (bless), and Melisandre is ripping her clothes off (again). Most interestingly, we appear to see Arya on a boat (en route to Westeros?) and Bran standing on his own power (perhaps in a dream?). It’s all a bit much for our tiny brains, which is why we’re going to spend the rest of the day analyzing this. Watch it below and hit us up with any theories and hot, hot takes ya got. It goes without saying that we'll be watching when it premieres April 24.
