Grace Gummer Plays A Young Nora Ephron In The ‘Good Girls Revolt’ Trailer

Topple the patriarchy

Of all the workplaces in which women are not treated equally in comparison to their male counterparts, newsrooms might take the proverbial cake. That's the basic premise of Good Girls Revolt, a new series from Amazon based on Lynn Povich's book The Good Girls Revolt that revolves around the real-life first female class action suit filed by almost 50 female staffers against Newsweek for sex discrimination in 1970. The show tracks a group of young, upstart researchers at the fictional News of the Week newspaper, who join forces in an effort to topple the patriarchy. Here, the first trailer transports us all the way back to 1969 New York, while introducing us to our three lead heroines played by Anna Camp, Genevieve Angelson, and Erin Darke. Grace Gummer also appears as the late filmmaker Nora Ephron.

According to the official synopsis, their quest to be treated equally in the workplace "will spark convulsive changes and upend marriages, careers, sex lives, love lives, and friendships." Sounds like just another day at Fox News.

All eight episodes of the first season of “Good Girls Revolt” will become available to stream on Amazon as of October 28. In the meantime, watch the first episode here and the trailer above.
