The app for the album that’s already platinum…

by Christian Lavery

It’s July 4th, and for the first time in a long time, on this day, you’re not worried about the food, the drinks, or the fireworks. Or at least they’re not your main focus. Instead, you have something a little different on your mind. Something that doesn’t quite pertain to the 4th at all. But alas, the day has arrived! And finally, Jay-Z’s 12th studio album, Magna Carta Holy Grail, has made its much-anticipated debut at backyard BBQ’s everywhere. The album has been released to the world today through a Samsung Galaxy app, that for weeks now, has kept the internet buzzing with numerous teasers. And as much as we appreciate the teasers, it’s been tough to stay patient amid glimpses into the magic that takes place when names such as Pharrell, Swizz Beats, Timberland, and Rick Rubin all end up among Hova in the same room. So we’re happy we finally have the Holy Grail in our hands and we urge you to enjoy the album that we now know to be nothing short of auditory glory. And while all the praise is rightfully sent Jay’s way, we can’t help but give Samsung a pat on the back as well. The strategy not only kept us on our toes, but it paid off. So if anything but Magna Carta Holy Grail is leaving your speakers (besides, maybe, Born in the USA by Springsteen), we’re gona have some serious issues. Now as for you folks that cling strongly to anything but a Samsung Galaxy, you’ll have to stay patient a bit longer…the already platinum album will be available to you this Sunday.
