Watch the Video For Joanna Newsom’s New Single “Sapokanikan”

Joanna Newsom has finally announced that the long-awaited followup to her 2010 masterpiece, Have One On Me, will be called Divers and come out on October 23. Newsom's albums are rare occasions—coming out about every five years—so almost as if to prove to her fans that a new record is, indeed, on the way, the singer has also a released a video for the album's first single, "Sapokanikan." 

The clip, which was directed by Paul Thomas Anderson, is beautiful in its simplicity, with Newsom wandering and singing along the nocturnal New York streets, sometimes lit only by sirens. As for the song, it's exactly what we've come to expect from one of the most unique voices in music, a lyrical and elaborate journey that's largely unpredictable in where it's going to take you.
