getting ready with keri russell

prepping for ‘the americans’ premiere with the star!

by liza darwin

We hope you've cancelled your plans already, because tonight isn't just your average Wednesday--it's the season two debut of The Americans! But while we're waiting to see what goes down this evening, here's a pretty great way to pass the time.

Makeup artist Tina Turnbow helped the series star Keri Russell prep for the show's red carpet premiere earlier this week, and she filled us in on all of the details.

According to Turnbow, the look was inspired by iconic actress Lauren Bacall and her classy, cool glamour. "We thought warm and glowy would be a nice modern touch for her makeup," she explains. It's the perfect complement to Russell's Balenciaga top, Jimmy Choo heels, and Saint Laurent jacket.

So how'd she do it?

1. ON THE SKIN:

First, dab on DR. HAUSCHKA Rose Day Cream and a spritz of Caudelie Beauty Elixir. Turnbow then used ARMANI Luminous Silk Foundation to cover.

2. FOR THE EYES:

Turnbow used Urban Decay's Double-Ended 24/7 Eyeliner in Zero/Whiskey to smudge the area around the lash line. She followed with  Korres concealer and Makeup Forever HD Powder. For Russell's copper glow, try NARS eyeshadow in "Cambodia."

3. ON THE LIPS:

"For a sheer rusty red I lined and filled in Keri's lips with all natural JANE IREDALE lip definer in 'Crimson,'" Turnbow says.
