The ‘Kingsman: The Golden Circle’ Has An Unexpected Cameo

The sequel hits theaters this fall

UPDATE 4/25/17, 12:30: Hey, so it turns out that Justin Timberlake has a look-alike, and his name is Pedro Pascal. In other words, JT is not in Kingsman: The Golden Circle, and Pascal, who was so terrific in Game of Thrones and Narcos, is. We apologize to Timberlake, Pascal, and their families for the inexcusable mix-up. (But c'mon, there is a resemblance.)

Back in 2015, Kingsman: The Secret Service came out of nowhere to become a surprise hit thanks to its combination of winking British charm, kinetic action sequences, and cartoonish violence. And with success comes sequels, hence this fall’s Kingsman: The Golden Circle, which just got a delightful new trailer that gives us a look at what’s in store for the secretive British spy ring in their second big-screen outing.

Taron Edgerton is back as Eggsy, who in the first film became a stylish superspy with the help of a mentor played by Colin Firth. Spoiler alert: Firth’s character appeared to die in the original Kingsman, thus the shocked looks on the faces of Edgerton and Mark Strong when he reappears at the end of this trailer. In the world of Kingsman, shots to the head are apparently not fatal.

For this sequel, the Kingsman headquarters are decimated by a missile strike, apparently launched by Julianne Moore’s villainous Poppy. So Edgerton must team up with an allied U.S. spy service called Statesman, a cowboy version of Kingsman that’s led by the likes of Channing Tatum, Jeff Bridges, and, in a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it moment, a revolver-toting Justin Timberlake? Kingsman: The Golden Circle hits theaters on September 22. Watch the trailer above.
