As if you needed another reason to fall head over heels in love with La La Land, here's a new trailer.
The film festival darling of a movie has been wowing critics with its originality and top-shelf performances from Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling. It's a throwback musical set in modern-day Los Angeles. Stone plays an aspiring actor while Gosling steps into the role of a jazz musician. The meet-cutes run aplenty while romance blossoms and dreams are chased.
With Academy Award-nominated director Damien Chazelle at the helm, the question of whether a movie musical will succeed in winning audiences is all but answered with a resounding, "Yes!" Early reviews of the movie have left critics charmed. Joe McGovern at Entertainment Weekly considers it to be "this season’s most dazzling movie experience." It's a bold move, but the world could use some originality and optimism. Good thing La La Land looks like it's brimming with both.
