LOOKBOOK: STRUMMER

summer dressing the australian way.

by liza darwin

Summertime dressing usually falls into two categories. There's the weekend uniform of jean cut-offs, breezy crop tops, and sandals for lazy days padding around town. There's also the dressed-up version, which usually includes sundresses, flouncy skirts, and comfy wedges reserved for nights out or whenever you feel like actually making an effort.

But if you want to mix it up, take some cues from Strummer. The Australian brand has managed to strike a balance between both of these warm-weather categories, all thanks to a few closet staples. Designer Edwina Hagon introduces pieces like tailored trousers (in a surprisingly cute mustard shade), statement bow blouses, and suede tunics in the lookbook for the brand's new collection, "Halcyon Days."

And don't worry- there are plenty of crop tops and day dresses too, just like the ones you probably already have in your wardrobe. Who says you can't have it both ways?
