LOOKBOOK: WHiT

pretty clothes with a touch of quirk.

by liza darwin

For Fall, Whitney Pozgay decided to raid her grandmother's closet...well, kind of. The upcoming collection from her line WHiT features tailored dresses, fur collar coats, and printed blouses- with all with a modern edge, proving that they didn't literally come from her family's attic. For instance, a basic LBD is updated with a sheer top, while paper-bag pants are at the same time retro and totally fresh.

And once you learn that the emerging designer polished her chops at preppy brands like Kate Spade and Steven Alan, this timeless influence is clear. These are classic pieces that you can wear anywhere- to school, to work, on the weekend- and you know you'll look good.

While the designer notes that Hitchcock's '60s heroines also served as inspiration behind the collection, we don't know if that means her gorgeous bird- patterned dress is a reference to the classic film of the same name. But if so, it gives us even more reason to love it.
