the five madewell musts

you know you want to channel erin wasson….

by steff yotka

I don't want to jinx it or anything, but it seems like spring weather is maybe, sort of, finally coming our way. And so with the changing of the climate comes the moment where all those winter sweaters get tucked away to make room for summer shorts and printed tanks. It couldn't happen at a better time, too, since Madewell's spring catalogue was just revealed on their Pinterest, and every look is full of outfit inspiration.

Adding to the awesomeness of stonewashed denim shorts and Paris-printed tanks, is the fact that the clothing is photographed on ultimate It Girl Erin Wasson. I mean, there's not a second that goes by when I don't wish I embodied a bit more of the too-cool Texan's vibe. But instead of daydreaming, I'm going to employ five tips to get the Madewell look in my life now. Check them out in the slideshow, while you wait for the full lookbook to hit Madewell's website tomorrow.

Madewell Must #1: A not-too-tight white T-shirt is something every girl needs in her wardrobe because A) it looks great with cutoffs and B) it looks even cooler with a navy blazer.

Madewell Must #2: I've said it once, and I'll say it again: Acid wash denim is your friend.

Madewell Must #3: The best way to look like you're on a Mediterranean holiday without leaving your hometown is to throw on a chambray unbuttoned to there and belt your shorts with a thick fabric belt. Beachy hair helps too.

Madewell Must #4: Oversized striped shirts + leather vests = transition weather perfection.

Madewell Must #5: It doesn't matter where you are in the world, a Paris tank is always appropriate.
