Despite her cartoon-character-on-acid persona, Miley Cyrus is at heart an artist who's in touch with her feelings. And as she showed us on songs like "Wrecking Ball" and more recently "Pablow the Blowfish," those feelings are deeply felt. Cyrus' latest emotional tour de force is called "Hands of Love," and it comes to us off the soundtrack for Freeheld, the gay rights drama starring Ellen Page and Julianne Moore that everyone's been talking about.
We caught a glimpse of the powerhouse track, which was written by Linda Perry, in Freeheld's last trailer, but you'll need to listen to it in full to clock the whole effect. Cyrus' Happy Hippie Foundation has been devoted to helping LGBTQ youth, and the singer herself has been open about her fluid sexuality, which makes her the perfect choice to sing this vital song. Listen to it above.
