Guess Which “Work” Music Video Was Most Popular In 2016

Work, work, work, work, work, work from home

The year 2016 was a year of realizing things and work ethic. Two pop songs urged us sheeple to put in work (x7), sometimes from home. Their respective music videos, too, exploded on the internet. So, it's no surprise they're among the most-watched videos of the year. Only one, however, was crowned number one.

Though Rihanna's "Work" sat pretty at the top of Billboard's chart for nine weeks, Fifth Harmony's "Work From Home" garnered 1.2 billion views on YouTube, making it the year's most popular music video. Rih's double-feature is the year's fifth most popular music video with 797 million views. Coincidentally, both "Work" songs got the Director X treatment: for Rih, he took us into the heat of Toronto club, The Real Jerk; for Fifth Harmony, he flips the script of Benny Benassi's "Satisfaction" video and ogles the male form in construction environments instead. The innuendos spell themselves.

The rest of the year's most popular videos are fairly predictable. Of course, The Chainsmokers song with Halsey would be on there; it was at the top of the charts for too long for it not to. Rihanna and Calvin Harris' second collab, "This Is What You Came For," came in second. ZAYN and Sia also made the cut. Beyoncé's on there, but for her controversial Coldplay video rather than LEMONADE. The irony of you getting any work done watching these videos is not lost on us. Press play at your risk.
