Mother Easy Video

peep penn badgley’s new musical project.

When Mother dropped their debut single "Easy" back in March, the internet basically exploded. And not only because the song is a smoky blend of moody melodies, an irresistable synth backbone, and a punch-drunk vibe (which are all true, obviously).

But arguably the coolest part? The mysterious guy behind the group's lush, hazy vocals is none other than Penn Badgley. Yep, that Penn Badgley.

We already know the former Gossip Girl star can sing, thanks to a recent role as Jeff Buckley in the biopic Greetings From Tim Buckley. But with another single, the dark-pop jam "Victim," and a forthcoming tour with Streets of Laredo, it's clear that this isn't just your average flash-in-the-pan project. In fact, Mother are really, really good...and you can tell they're only going to get better.

After waiting for months for the band to drop the visuals to "Easy," the video has finally arrived. While it doesn't show the members' faces--you'll have to catch them live for that--the dreamy black and white clip is cool enough to have on loop for the rest of the day. Which, come to think of it, is a pretty good idea...
