movie review: who took the bomp?

hit the road with le tigre in this new rockumentary.

As a band, Le Tigre has never been quiet about the messages behind their music. But now the indie threesome is shouting even louder- both on and off the stage- in the new movie, Who Took the Bomp? Le Tigre on Tour.

Following the electronic feminist punk trio on their yearlong This Island tour across four continents and ten countries, the film gives us a behind-the-scenes look at the performances, problems, and general ridiculousness that went down along the way. This includes watching Kathleen, Johanna, and JD jokingly rattle off their backstage demands (hummus, please) as well as place bets on who can get their photo taken with Slipknot first by posing as a rabid fan. These hilarious moments are offset by hearing the group hash out heavier topics like confronting sexism in the music industry and their struggles with fame.

Equally funny, smart, and inspiring, this rock n' roll movie will make you think about Riot Grrrl in a whole new way. Plus, with their kick-ass live performances and awesome insight, we're betting it will cause you to become obsessed with Le Tigre...yep, all over again.
