NIKE AIR MAX DAY

It was 27 years ago today when

Nike

released the original Air Max—so you’re mistaken if you think today is just another Wednesday on the calendar.

Designed by Tinker Hatfield, the revolutionary sneaker was the first to feature a visible air unit, and as a result of its iconic stature, the 26th of March has officially been dubbed "Nike Air Max Day."

To celebrate, Nike is releasing a limited Air Max 1 that showcases the OG red/white colorway, yet adds a bright midsole and reads 3.26 on the tongue to honor the monumental date.

The commemorative AM1 dropped today, so get your hands on a pair at select Nike retailers across the country. And make sure to brush up on your Air Max history
