Nigel Sylvester Nike Dunk SB

Last time

we hung out with our good friend Nigel Sylvester

, it was to play arcade games and talk about his partnership with G-Shock. This time around he hit us up to give us the scoop on his insanely exciting collaboration with Nike.

Sylvester teamed up with the brand for the first-ever retail release by one of their BMX riders. The Nike SB Dunk High consists of a all black Nubuck upper with Nike's classic Safari print on the eyestay and collar. The white midsole sits atop a gum outsole, and to finish them off[,] the insoles contain Nigel's signature on the right and S.O.M.P (Standing On My Pedals) on the left.

Nigel kept it in the family and worked on the design with sneaker game legend DJ Clark Kent. "We worked on my last G-Shock watch together around the same time we designed this dunk so I went with the same color scheme," Nigel told us "I feel these colors and textures truly represent me as a person and a BMX rider." This shoe incorporates the SB Dunks' rugged and functional properties needed for a BMX rider and crosses them with luxury materials reflecting Nigel's personal taste. The safari print is classic, one of Nigel's favorite prints, as well as a nod to NYC being a concrete jungle. The sticky gum outsole is an ode to the streets of NYC (which are covered in gum) plus it's an incredible gripping material for his bike pedals.

If you're in NYC tomorrow you can kick it with Sylvester at his in-store event at
