The News: The Death of East Village RadioJohn Ortved's piece in the New Yorker details the backstory of the beloved East Village Radio and the circumstances of its closing. It's a sad day when New York City loses another beloved cultural landmark. The Look: Kiko Mizuhara in NYLON JapanThis week was my last at NYLON, which has led to a lot of nostalgia for all the things that made the magazine great. I racked through our archives yesterday to pick out some of my favorite moments, like this collage of Kiko Muzihara, from NYLON Japan. Her looks in this spread really embody the NYLON style to me: fun, sporty, street, fashionable, and, most of all, badass.

The Face: NYLON Issue One, 1999NYLON's first issue is a literal gem. With Liv Tyler on the cover and an interview with The Beastie Boys inside, its content is nostalgia brought to life. The bare-faced beauty of this photo, too, is hauntingly gorgeous. If only the same beauty products used to get this look in '99 were still around today. The Inspiration: Guitar Playing in NYLON JapanAll my favorite things in one place: big fuzzy coats, American flags, and relaxing in bed.

The Song: "Barcelona" - The PlasticinesThe Plasticines were the first band signed to NYLON Records, and this video directed by our former Editor-in-Chief Marvin Scott Jarrett is the raddest way to throwback to NYLON's awesome days. Things are changing around here, but I think if we keep the free-spirited vibe we've had since day one, everything will be OK.
