WHY I LOVE IT: The entire Armani Prive fragrance collection is genius. The bottle caps have different gem stones in correspondence to the scent, and although the line is for men and women, I find that most of the scents are totally unisex. My favorite at the moment has been Rose Alexandrie, blended with the Centifolia Rose of France (one of the finest essences used in perfumery) and inspired by the fountain waters from the Alexandrian garden. I smell like royalty... dare I say more?
FOR THOSE: Who want to feel luxurious.
WHY I LOVE IT: With the exception of her highly-covetable vintage kimono collection, the only thing I would really want to steal from Jessa (Jemima Kirke's boho goddess character on Girls) is her lipstick. And guess what? I have finally f***ing found it. Like, the exact '90s-revival red-brown-mauve lipstick I've been dreaming about. It's Hudson Red by MAKE, a silk cream lipstick that dries rather matte despite its name, and is totally layer-able. Now all I need is the perfect messy topknot and flawless skin to match.
FOR THOSE: Who just want to be Jessa.
EYES WIDE SHUT
WHY I LOVE IT: Confession: If I don't apply eye cream twice a day (morning and night), I feel weirdly incomplete. It has become one of those steps that is just 100% necessary during my skincare routine, and as result of this sad truth, I've tested out my fair share of holy-grail and horrid eye products. One I've been loving as of late has been Tarte's Maracuja C-Brighter Eye Treatment infused with a mix of essential fatty acids, Vitamin C, and antioxidant plant extracts to rebuild firmer, brighter, and hydrated skin. As a bonus, It's packaged inside the cutest geometric tub ever.
FOR THOSE: Who want to look awake.
WHY I LOVE IT: Would you ever wear yellow nail polish? One of my favorite photos of all-time is of a young Madonna rocking the mellow yellow shade (Google "Madonna yellow nail polish" for reference), which served as the inspiration for my latest mani. The color used? Lemon Shark by Sally Hansen, part of their Triple Shine Nail Polish collection, that does just as the name implies: SHINES.
FOR THOSE: Who want to be Madonna.
WHY I LOVE IT: Shower gels can be a pain in the ass. They can glide on slippery and leave behind gross residue, but alas, I have found the answer: Rituals Hammam Delight Foaming Shower Gel. Simply squeeze a desired amount into your hands, massage into damp skin, and enjoy the foamy bubbly sensation that's easy to apply and leaves nothing but the scent of eucalyptus and rosemary behind.
FOR THOSE: Who need to take a shower.
WHY I LOVE IT: Finding the perfect daily exfoliator can be an uphill battle: Most are too harsh, too abrasive, or too drying--especially in the dead of winter when your skin is flaking and you want to get rid dead skin, but not promote your skin from drying out even further. Enter: The ASAP Daily Exfoliating Facial Scrub. Gentle, but powerful, this exfoliator promotes cell renewal and stimulates collagen (improving the overall texture of your skin) as little round beads and AHA's rid your dead skin cells. Needless to say, it has been a lifesaver.
FOR THOSE: Who aren't flaky.
WHY I LOVE IT: Surprise, surprise I dyed my hair pink this Saturday. If you've been reading NYLON for the past 2+ years, you may be familiar with my hair dyeing adventures (blue, green, yellow, purple, pink, etc.). But if you're unfamiliar with this, basically, I change my hair color a lot. Thanks to the amazing, lovely, mega-babe Roxie at Cutler Salon Soho, my pastel pink fantasy locks finally became a reality, and she also let me in on the biggest secret of my life: Purely Perfect's Cleansing Creme. Described as an "un-shampoo," because it's sans detergent, the formula is infused with pure Aloe Vera and essential oils for smooth and shiny locks. The best part? It doesn't strip your hair, so I can wash my pink mop without any color fade, or my shower looking like I just bathed in Kool-Aid.
FOR THOSE: Who want to keep their color.
