In a world of chaos and uncertainty, we can always rely on the unwavering knowledge that when Rihanna does something, she does it. And so, just a few weeks after releasing ANTI—the fastest album in history to go platinum—Bad Gal Riri has made her Fashion Week debut with a show that has everyone talking.
While Kanye West has continued the relevance of the athleisure trend with Yeezy Season 3, Rihanna has taken that vibe, remixed it, and brought it to a whole new gothic, futuristic plane. As the creative director of Puma, the singer has released her Fenty x Puma collection and singlehandedly pushed the classic, iconic Puma brand to a place of resurged relevance. The Hadid sisters walked the show clad in flowing, sporty outfits that combined rosary-inspired necklaces with lush capes and the shortest of crop tops, and of course, every look provided new aesthetic goals that seem to be an updated version of the revived health goth trend.
With Anna Wintour, Jeremy Scott, Naomi Campbell, and Drake in the audience of the show, the ripples of Rihanna's influence are bound to spread far and wide. Even Kanye, who had recently accused Puma of trying to divide his family after the brand allegedy offered Kylie Jenner a seven-figure deal, praised Riri for a game-changing show.
