Rihanna Stay Cover Low

listen to this version of stay—for a good cause!

by rebecca willa davis

"Stay" is one of Rihanna's most emotionally moving tracks, so it's a tall order to take the Unapologetic track and make it sound just as touching.

Yet indie stalwarts Low do just that. The Minnesota-based trio inject the slow-moving ballad with their own brand of indie minimalism. Mimi Parker and Alan Sparhawk alternate singing duties (the latter filling the role of Mikky Ekko), sounding as if they're the only people in the room.

You can listen to the track below, but if it moves you as much as it moved us, you can purchase Low's cover of "Stay" on iTunes right now. And even better, proceeds from sales go to Rock For Kids, a Chicago music education program. Because good things should come out of good music, right?
