Paying homage to a ’72 classic…

by Christian Lavery

Branded by its iconic three stripes, adidas is paying homage to the past through its latest silhouette: the SL Loop Runner. Originally introduced in 1972 for the Munich Summer Olympic games, the simple design and classic look is now coming back out of the archives and onto your feet.

The nod to the original SL 72 can be seen in the in the current model through its modern take on a lightweight upper material, iconic T-toe and sculpted concave midsole. The SL Loop Runner also features a unique execution of the serrated stripes, which peel up to form the eye stays.

While the above shoe was only made in a limited run of 200 pairs, you can shop the entire range of SL Loop Runner shoes HERE.
