The Sunski sunglasses story is a pretty rad one. It's one that began in Australia over 25 years ago when the original company went out of business. In 2009, when an American dude named Tom went on a surf sabbatical and found some of the dead-stock Sunskis at a surf shop in Foster, Oz, the brand was given a new life. Last year Tom and his buddy Michael decided to post the Sunski project proposal on Kickstarter in the hopes of raising $9,800 and to everyone's surprise they overshot their goal buy a long-shot, raising $157,00. The guys have given the classic brand a new twist, offering the original four colors of the glasses, in small runs, and selling out repeatedly.
