The News: American Horror Story Actress Wins an Emmy!
NYLON fave show American Horror Story: Coven (starring cover star Emma Roberts) won an Emmy last night at the 66th annual awards show. Actress Jessica Lange--who plays Fiona Goode--on the FX horror series took home the award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Miniseries or Movie. Surprise, bitch.
The Look: Urban Outfitters' Fall '14 Sneak Preview
I know you probably don't want to discuss fall yet, but you can't ignore the fact that it's right around the corner (and I can't wait). Which is exactly why I was super pumped to check out Urban Outfitters' fall '14 collection preview. Not only does the lookbook come with the perfect autumn party that I can't wait to mimic with my besties, but it also comes with faux fur jackets, T-shirt dresses, and oversized flannel cardigans that you can't help but swoon over.
The Face: Clinique Makeup Brush Cleanser
You might not be able to prevent all breakouts, but when it comes to taking steps toward limiting them, one thing you can do is clean your makeup brush. I don't need to go into detail here, but think about how many times you've come home after a long day at work in the summer and added another coat of powder foundation before heading out to happy hour with your friends. All that dirt and oil from the day is getting a load of makeup thrown on top of it. Doesn't sound so clean right? All you need to do is give your brush a little clean with Clinique's Makeup Brush Cleanser and you're good to go.
The Inspiration: Mila Kunis, NYLON January '11 Cover
Is there any cooler shoot of Mila Kunis than this one for the NYLON January '11 cover? It's hot but not too hot, cool but not too cool, and looks super classic in black-and-white. Even though Kunis has grown up (has a baby on the way) and has come a long way from playing Jackie Burkhart on That '70s Show, the actress who I'd love to have as a BFF still insipres me--especially in an oversized sweater and socks (just in time for almost fall).
The Song: "Sutphin Boulevard" - Blood Orange
It never fails. Every time this song comes on I think for a split second, "Man, this is so good. Who is this?!" Then I realize it's none other than Blood Orange. AKA Dev Hynes, this R&B chillwave musician has made quite a name for himself over the past few years. And "Sutphiln Boulevard" still hits me like the first time I heard it.
