The Look:

The Elder Statesman Fall ’14

Number one on the list of how I wish I dressed is the entire Elder Statesman fall ’14 collection. The line’s sumptuous cashmere and wool sweaters are so soft and comfortable, they’re like societally acceptable pajamas (you can see why I’m obsessed). The fall lookbook features these rad sweaters with boxer-style shorts and low-top sneakers—it’s sort of a “I just got out of bed and, yes, I’m going to get me coffee like this” look. But really, I want to wear this unexpected style combo everywhere, from work to parties to bed at night. So if you see a girl in a “Beer”-printed sweater, boxers, and some solid white kicks, that’s me… say hi!

The Face:

Fresh Soy Face Serum

Reason #4756 I hate winter is the hell it creates for my skin. I’ve tried every lotion, masque, cream, or gel to help my skin stay hydrated, and the one I’ve found to work like a charm is Fresh’s Soy Face Serum. The texture of the serum always makes me feel like I’ve just paid for a very expensive skin treatment in a Beverly Hills spa (so do the results), when really I’m standing in my bathroom, trying to figure out how to make boxers look like normal pants.

The News:

Facebook buys WhatsApp for $19 Billion

You can have it all! And by “you” I mean Mark Zuckerberg, and by “it all” I mean every trendy app available. First Facebook bought Instagram in 2012, and now they’ve just purchased messaging app WhatsApp for a cool $19 billion. (Wondering how to properly celebrate such an event?

The same way Jay Z would if it were still 2003

.)

The Inspiration:

Amanda Murphy’s Model Card

Amanda Murphy is my fave model right now, with her Freja-levels of cool and Sasha-levels of cheekbone. While I’ll have my eyes peeled for this Prada favorite in the brand’s fall ’14 show (which you can watch online on

Prada.com

at 12 PM EST), I’m also going to print out her model card for my February mood board. Because most model cards are a boring pic against a white background, but this one, from Murphy’s agency IMG, is a work of art in its own right.

The Song:

“So Bad” - Starsystem

My winter anthem. Cold weather? The fact that this boxer shorts look doesn’t seem to be working on me right now? I’m taking a cue from Robert Schwartzman and remembering “It doesn’t have to be so bad.”

The Look: I couldn’t pick one The Elder Statesman look so here’s my other favorite…
