THE INSIDER: DOUTZEN KROES

“of course I was nervous, I was in my underwear!”

by ali hoffman

Doutzen Kroes is a busy woman. After strutting down Victoria's Secret's wildly extravagant runway just 10 months after giving birth (crazy, we know), the Dutch bombshell didn't go home to recuperate. Instead, she went to work on her next project, teaming with A|X Armani Exchange and dance4life to design a shirt for World AIDS Day. We stopped by the launch to catch up with the supermodel, snag one of the tees, and get some gossip on the V.S. Show.

Did you watch the Victoria's Secret show on T.V. last week? Oh yes! There was actually a viewing party, so we all got together, all of the models... Erin, Adriana... It was so much fun! It was really nice to share that moment and enjoy it together. I thought it was such a beautiful show. And Jay Z was the best surprise act ever!

Do you still get nervous even though you've done it a bunch of times? It was my sixth time! And this time there was a new girl- Bregje (Heinen)- she's Dutch as well. It was nice because it was her first time and she asked me a couple of things. But I was nervous too! Come on, you're in your underwear. But if I wasn't nervous, then it would just be like another thing that I do everyday. Being nervous makes it more fun, you know?

Dance4Life seems like such a great organization. Did you have fun working with them on the t-shirt? It was such a fun shoot! And that's what I like about dance4life; they're so positive and they want to reach people and give out their message through dance and positive vibes. Of course it's such a sad problem, but it's good to not always approach things in a sad way, but create something more positive…That's what dance4life is all about.

What do you like to dance to? I always love Beyonce. and my husband is a DJ, so i love to go out. Oh, and house music! I love it!
