The Vanity’s New Video Is Blessed By Beyoncé

don’t mess with texas

With raw vocals and upbeat acoustics, Texas natives The Vanity has us fully embracing the indie vibes that surface from their electrifying sound. Comprised of Alex Dugan (vocals), Mic Vredenburgh (guitar), Augie Gmitter (bass) and David Grayson (drums), the four-piece band recently released their Are You Going Alone? EP back in October. Today, NYLON is premiering the music video for the band's latest single "Stay." In an email, vocalist Alex Dugan told us that, "the song is really about counting on someone and needing that person to be there when they're not. There’s a lot of different ways that can happen and all of them somehow find their way into the song."

"We shot in Brooklyn in this really cool warehouse where they used to shoot porn in the early days. It’s not why we picked it, but it was an interesting fact to know when deciding which couch in the green room to sit on," Dugan added. "Beyoncé has also recorded a music video there, which was all the H-Town blessing we needed. She shot 'Grown Woman' here which is exactly how I felt like shooting our bands first big music video. After months of hard work, it's finally done."
