1 T-Shirt, 3 Ways: How Our Staffers Styled Their New Favorite Tee

From Calle Del Mar

This month, NYLON staffers took on the challenge of styling one item of clothing in three different ways. We chose one of our favorite up-and-coming brands, Calle Del Mar, and Aza Ziegler, designer behind the label, created a new take on the T-shirt in a knit fabric. We automatically feel in love and had to take it to the streets to test out.

If you wouldn't normally gravitate toward a knitted tee, we are here to change your mind. Not only does this top scream "thrift store chic," but it also comes in a variety of colors that are very on trend at the moment. Ziegler tries to channel all things vintage, and with a modern twist on a classic athletic piece, this varsity style will become your go-to for every season. Check out the way we styled it, and grab one yourself before they are gone!

"I loved how comfortable the tee was. I tend to wear all black because my hair color is always changing, so I knew I had to pair this baby blue top—a hard color to wear with bright yellow hair—with black as well. I chose my favorite midi skirt from & Other Stories and my large Rebecca Minkoff work bag. I finished the look with gray Sol Sana sandals paired with black mesh socks to keep things interesting." —Jenna Igneri, digital market assistant

"A knit T-shirt is something you think you'd know how to style, but you probably will be wrong. It fits completely differently than a regular cotton tee. I thought of it more as a sweater when I saw it. I love the ode to vintage with the varsity stripes in an ivory color mixed with one of my favorite colors of the season: pastel blue. I paired it with my version of a slip dress in denim and some sneakers. I literally wear sneakers everywhere, so I thought with this vintage feel they would fit perfectly." —Marissa Smith, market editor

"I love rocking denim on denim, so I thought that this shade of blue would complement my overalls dress from Madewell. The white stripes on the sleeves gave the look some flair so I wasn't too washed out with all that blue. After paired with my cognac mule sandals from Zara—which work with almost anything—I was ready to hit the streets for an afternoon stroll through SoHo." —Sydney Gore, digital editorial assistant
