sasha pivovarova sketches for gap!

by liza darwin

Even though she's worked the catwalk and fronted campaigns for everyone from Chanel to Armani to Dior, Sasha Pivovarova has always been a visual artist first, supermodel second.

If you don't believe us, here's proof: we featured the Russian model and ex-Art History student way back in our Dec/Jan 2006 issue for her sketches and paintings (click here to see the story), and now she's gone back to the drawing board- literally- for Gap.

As part of the retail giant's artists collaboration series (Jeff Koons, Neckface and Marilyn Minter have all participated in the past), Pivovarova has stamped her whimsical fairy tale-inspired designs on the five piece GapBody capsule collection of lingerie, pj's, and loungewear.

Get a sneak peek and check out select Gap stores nationwide to wear the model's art on your sleeve (er, pajamas.....).
