the essentials: vanessa hudgens

the easiest way to raid our cover star’s closet.

by liza darwin

There's a lot to love about our February issue cover girl, Vanessa Hudgens. The ex-Disney star and multi-hyphenate has moved far beyond her days singing and dancing in the hallways for High School Musical-- especially since now you're more likely to see her breaking out as rebellious college kid in Spring Breakers or going dark as a homeless teen in Gimme Shelter

She's growing up onscreen, and her style has shifted as well. Despite first winning a fashion following for her Coachella-approved uniform of breezy dresses, maxi skirts, and floppy hats, Hudgens is now just as likely to rock a lace jumpsuit or a surprisingly ladylike-looking crop top on the carpet.

Click below to see how to channel the actress in your own wardrobe with ripped denim, embellishments...and OK, a boho dress or two. Because c'mon, you didn't expect her to give them up entirely, did you?!
