Victoria Beckham’s Unreleased “Hip-Hop” Album Is Everything You Never Liked About the Early ’00s

Unless you were a big Aaron Carter fan

by Sarah Beauchamp

Somehow, from the depths of the Internet, Victoria Beckham's 2003 "hip-hop" album (we're using the term "hip-hop" very loosely here) Come Together has been unearthed. Once you listen to it, you'll be instantly transported to the good 'ol days of the early 2000s, when we were all wearing Juicy Couture sweatpants, trading our favorite frosted Lip Smacker flavors, and calling albums like Aaron Carter's Aaron's Party "hip hop."

If Posh was your favorite Spice Girl, you'll be excited to hear an entirely different side of the singer. A side that, for very good reasons, the world never got to hear. Come Together, which was produced by Damon Dash and features Ol’ Dirty Bastard, sounds like if Madonna and JLo got drunk and made an album where their kids played the instruments. It includes could've-been-but-sadly-never-will-be hits like "That Dude," and "He's My Lover." Perhaps the most un-hip-hop of all the songs (and the one with the most cringe-worthy lyrics) is "So Cold." Listen to it below, along with other selects, while wearing a Von Dutch hat, organizing your butterfly clip collection, and gluing rhinestones onto everything.  And keep your fingers crossed for Baby Spice's never-before-heard country album.
