vintage cassette player by chelco

I let my tape rock til my tape popped…

When our friends Pyyramids released a cassette tape, we thought "okay, we see you doing your vintage thing, that's cool." But then our friends King Fantastic and Haim released tapes, too. Thanks to these releases we have this growing collection of cassettes now. So we started looking around at some local thrift stores for an old player. Unfortunately it turns that people only get rid of broken cassette players, so the hunt for a brand new one began. We landed on this vintage re-make from Chelco, the makers of such fine products as the Deluxe 8 Track Portable and the Portable Boom Box. It's pretty awesome that the original company is still around. This baby is pretty straightforward, battery or AC input-powered, with an AM/FM radio and--of course--an antenna. We just e-mailed our parents and asked them to send up the box of cassettes that's been collecting dust out in the garage. This makes us even more stoked for Cassette Store Day, too!
