beauty queen: zoey deutch

go on, get wavy.

OK, so chances are you didn't tune into the Kids' Choice Awards this weekend (we don't blame you, we didn't either...). But we're sure glad we spotted Zoey Deutch after the fact, mostly because she looked so damn awesome. The

Vampire Academy

star sported Osman separates, a Jimmy Choo clutch, and topped off her outfit with amazing beachy waves.

Effortlessly mussed but not frizzy, her style was the perfect hybrid of red carpet appropriate and Californication. Whether or not you're on the West Coast yourself, we asked Deutch's hairstylist Aviva Perea how to recreate her look:

First up, you have to prepare your locks for the extra volume. Perea used

Oribe Surfcomber Mousse

and

Leonor Greyl Mousse

for an extra boost. Then, she dried hair with the

T3 Featherweight Luxe 2.1 blow dryer

,

roughing it up with her fingers.

Next up? Wrap one-inch sections around the small end of the

T3 Curling Wand.

After tugging on the ends to make them looser, Perea gave Deutch a side part, then finished things off with "her favorite texture threesome":

Bumble & Bumble Dryspun Finish

,

Oribe's Après Beach Spray

and

Phytovolume Matte Texturizing Paste.

Et voila!

Surfer waves, minus the gritty salt and annoying dryness that come from the real-life beach. Because if we can't be on vacation 24/7, at least we can look the part...
