Tattooed and just the kind of girl we’d want to hang out with, Bone had developed a following of thousands before she addressed one of the most common questions people have about her tutorials on eyeshadow, contouring, and the like. “Most of the time when I upload a video,” Bone says in the latest entry on her YouTube account, “I have questions about my hands. Truth is, I can’t move them, open them, or close them. And it’s all because 10 years ago, I became a tetraplegic after a car accident.” She continues, “So to be able to do my makeup good enough to show you guys is a massive achievement for me.”
Indeed it is, and her candid, makeup-free confession explaining her “Beautiful Struggle” has, to date, garnered over 3.3 million views. It’s not only inspiring, heartbreaking, and heartwarming, but has attracted her a whole, new clutch of supporters, fans, and followers. We’ve joined them.
Take a look for yourself. It’s a great reminder that by the grace of confronting and overcoming the seemingly insurmountable, almost any personal action can become something brave, beautiful, and inspiring.
