20 Of The Most Jaw-Dropping Dresses From Bridal Fashion Week

Buck tradition in one of these daring numbers

When it comes to bridal, "one dress fits all" sometimes seems like an accurate statement to describe the swaths of similar looking (read: boring) dresses that many brides tend to don for their "big day." It's a good thing then that during this Bridal Fashion Week the designers again pushed the envelope of their fashion pursuits for the brides-to-be who prefer to take a more offbeat path to get to the altar.

Taking a walk on the wild side (well, for weddings anyway), Fall 2017 collections saw gowns that weren't exactly traditional; in fact, some were outright gasp-inducing (we're looking at you Naeem Khan). Stepping up their game to seven-tier wedding cake heights, the designers sent unique looks ranging from barely there dresses, bridal capes, and untraditional silhouettes (separates ruled) down the runway. Far from typical, these dresses looked sewn for rule-breaking brides who err on the side of glam and high fashion, as well as favor the atypical when it comes to their personal style.

The wow factor was at a fashion high with plenty of unexpected details—like feathers, oversized sleeves, bold lines, and plunging necklines—that made these looks undeniably fashion forward. Some collections were so rooted in haute couture and the avant-garde, picking the most jaw-dropping dress was virtually impossible—so we've picked 20.

Toss the traditional and check out our favorite dresses, each as individual as the bride who'll be wearing them, from the Fall 2017 Bridal Fashion Week runways in the gallery below.
